Danielle Hannigan’s Blog States:
I recently read an interesting article on 6 ways to make money with Facebook on Just Make Money Online.
“If you’re wondering how you can monetise Facebook, then here are some ideas for you -
1. Find new business clients. Whether you’re a consultant, a writer, a photographer, an illustrator, or any other kind of freelance or online business worker, you can find new clients using this popular social networking site.
2. Use various apps that enable you to make money. Some examples include: MarketLodge or TwitCash. You might also want to include apps by other money making ventures like Tradebit. Check some services or affiliate programmes and see if they have a Facebook app that you can use.
3. Use Facebook’s Marketplace. The Marketplace offers you ways to sell your stuff - either old or new. You can even look for jobs.
4. Advertise your business or service using Facebook’s Classified Ads. Although you’re not allowed to advertise your business or service in the Marketplace, you can still advertise them using their Facebook’s ad service.”

If you’re like most people, chances are you spend a lot of time thinking about your money. If you’re a parent, you may spend even more time thinking about your kids’ money — or, rather, how to ensure they have some when they need it.
One of the great debates of parenting is whether it’s possible to instill in kids the attitudes that will help them handle money well. Can you motivate a child to put his allowance into a savings account rather than spend it at the local toy store? Can you — and should you — inspire a child to dream of 10,000-square-foot homes and a sparkling new Porsche? more

If you are like me, you get into your car and go, forgetting to check the speedometer when you get in. Don’t you wish that every time you get into your car, you would be able to record your business mileage without thinking about it? I had an idea, I wanted to invent a mileage tracker that would send all of my info to the internet, where I could make a print out at tax time and not loose a penny of my mileage deduction. Well, like usual, I am a day late and a dollar short. After doing an internet search, I found a company that did exactly what I envisioned. It tracks all of my mileage using a GPS technology, and all I have to do is log onto my site, and mark if it was personal, business, charity or medical and I can also write in comments! I am so excited to do my tax return next year. With the mileage rate currently being .505 a mile, and the price of gas reaching $4.00 a gallon, I will get my money’s worth. more

Do you know how to row a boat? That’s right…row a boat. If you answered yes to this question, then congratulations, you also know one of the greatest secrets to creating lasting success in Direct Sales.
Growing your business the “smart” way is very much like rowing a boat. Let me explain.
First, when rowing a boat, it is vital that you have both oars in the water and you are rowing them simultaneously. What happens if you have only one oar in the water? No matter how fast you row, you will simply spin around in circles. Herein lies the connection between rowing a boat and building your business. You simply must have the oars of both sales and sponsoring at work in your business before you can truly make any progress toward your destination or goal.
Secondly, when rowing, the speed of the boat is determined by the personal strength of the person doing the rowing. Just like the athlete who wants to move swiftly through the water, you must also develop the “mental muscle” by continuing to fine-tune your skills and putting what you learn into practice every day.
Lastly, isn’t it true that any boat ride, whether you are racing toward the finish line or meandering through a lovely lake is much more fun when you have others along for the ride? When you share your business opportunity with someone special, you extend an invitation to join you on a journey. As the time tested saying goes, “The more the merrier!”
Take a look at your business to see if you have been “rowing with both oars in the water.” If you are not making the progress you want, chances are you are not balancing your daily activity with both sales and sponsoring. So make the commitment, cast off the line, and row toward your goal with strong, consistent strokes. Before you know it – you will arrive at your destination!

New York Life had an interesting article on their site on how American Women are winning the game of Financial Catch Up:
Ten Steps To Building Wealth for the Future
American women today are playing financial catch-up — and they’re winning. Whether young and starting their first jobs; re-entering the job market; or recently widowed, women are starting to prepare for their first entre into the world of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and taxes. They’re learning that if they want to travel the road to financial security, they had better learn to map the trip themselves.
Why is financial independence so important? Unfortunately, most women still leave the investing responsibilities to their husbands, or even worse, face a crisis before they start taking the reins, leaving them unprepared to handle their financial affairs. “Ninety percent of all women, either through divorce, widowhood, or because they have never married, will be in charge of their own finances at some point in their life, ” writes BusinessWeek personal finance editor Toddi Gutner. (“Women and Retirement: Time to Get Aggressive” (BusinessWeek 12/13/1999)
“Women are in a unique financial situation,” explains Boston-based New York Life agent and NYLIFE Securities Inc. registered representative, Carol B. Gray. “They earn less and live longer than men. Plus, they haven’t been taught to take control of their money.” Women typically make 60% to 80% of what men earn to do the same job, take more time off to raise a family, which cuts into their pension savings, and on average live seven years longer than men. For women, this makes taking control of their financial situation even more essential.
Mistakes some women make in their approach to managing money: Read More..
